Safe Steps and its partners will deliver a pilot program that uses vacant homes in Melbourne’s private real estate market to fill the emergency housing gap for intimate partner violence survivors, to provide quality, affordable and safe emergency housing to women.

This research project is to evaluate the economic and social impacts of this housing pilot program and examine possibilities for upscaling the model. Specifically, the project will initiate and refine the pilot program and evaluation criteria; plan the pilot and its evaluation; conduct the pilot and its evaluation; communicate findings; and use findings to inform improvements.
