Ministerial appointment to NDIS Independent Advisory Council

Professor Anne Kavanagh has been appointed to the National Disability Insurance Scheme Independent Advisory Council.

Congratulations to Professor Anne Kavanagh on her appointment to the Independent Advisory Council for the National Disability Insurance Agency. Professor Kavanagh is the Chair of Disability and Health in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Disability and Health (CRE-DH) and the Academic Director of the Melbourne Disability Institute.

Professor Kavanagh said “I welcome the opportunity to bring my academic and personal experience of disability to the work of the Council so that the NDIS delivers on its transformative potential’.

Appointments to the Independent Advisory Council are made by the Commonwealth Minister and members are selected for their expertise and knowledge in the disability field. Council members provide independent advice to the Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) about the management and roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
