Research Support Funds

Graduate Student Research Support Fund

The Research Support Fund is available to graduate students undertaking inclusive disability research. Graduate students may apply for a grant of up to $3,000 to help support collaborative, co-designed or co-produced research conducted with people with disability and their representative organisations.

The funds may be used to support a broad range of research activities, including, but not limited to: payments for project participants, Easy Read material, interpreting, captioning and other expenses directly related to making projects more inclusive and accessible.

Please note: there is no set application period for this grant, and it will remain open until the available funding has been allocated. This grant is separate from MDI's seed funding and is available to graduate students undertaking a Masters (by research) or PhD at the University of Melbourne. Students undertaking a MDI allocated PhD are ineligible for this opportunity but are instead invited to apply for the MDI PhD Top-Up funds.

Please also note that this is a once-off payment - students may only apply for the grant once during the course of their project. If you have any questions, or if you would like to discuss your research support needs, please reach out to us at md-i@unimelb.edu.au.
