Creative Development for Accessible City Computer Game

Through this project, the research team developed a proof of concept city-building computer game focused on accessible city design. Their goal was to create a game, which is informed by lived experience of disability in a virtual environment, which will drive new understandings of how built environments and urban spaces create accessibility and inaccessibility. Ultimately they are seeking to influence the future design of a wide range of computer games.

In 2023, the research team were selected to participate in the Translating Research at Melbourne program to test the accessible cities game with participants with lived experience of disability.
